MxPx is replaced

Ryan commented the replace of MxPx on the blog:

"The Spill Canvas to Replace MXPX on Upcoming Tour

We recently released the information about our upcoming tour which starts in March. Unfortunately MXPX is now unavailable for the dates which we are sad to hear. However we have what we think is incredible news as we have some great friends that will be filling the slot. The Spill Canvas is in my opinion one of the best new bands around and we are happy to have them. If you didn't read anything about the tour, we will be playing acoustic eery night and the set list is loaded with stuff you haven't heard in a long time. Can't wait to get on the road.

Cloverfield premiere

It's today!! Cloverfield, the movie where Ryan has a small participation but soo special for we fans, is on the theaters! He's a barman in a farewell party for one of the main actors who lives in New York and is moving for Japan. The friends record all the last night of their friend (the movie is all shot under the context of a personal hand-held camera).. and they're really happy until the lights are turned off and something really weird happens on the city... there's a monster!
Uuuuuhhhh!

Watch the trailer!
I bet you, like me, will want to watch it and see the blondie showing his hollywood skills!! =P

Secondhand Serenade as Support Act for Yellowcard

John from Secondhand Serenade posted a bulletin in MySpace telling that he'll be yellowcard support act in March. You can read the whole post below:

"MAJOR tour info... playing with YELLOWCARD

I've been promising some tour announcements for a while. I finally have some, and there is going to be LOTS more to come. But for now, just know that I am taking over as direct support on the Yellowcard tour for 2 weeks in March. The dates are below. I will also be doing a headline run before that, and likely another headline run afterwards. But more news on that in a bit. As for the Yellowcard tour, anyone who purchases Yellowcard's new 'live' album on itunes the week of release (from January 22nd to January 28th) will also receive a code from Ticketmaster to pre purchase up to four tickets for the tour, beginning January 30th....before they go on sale to the public on February 2nd. Otherwise, they'll just be on sale 2/2. I'll get you more info (times, addresses, etc) as it all comes in. Hope to see you there! And don't worry if your area is not on this list... like I said... LOTS more updates coming. (:

-John"

New Album + Tour!

Calm down! Yellowcard didn't forget Paper Walls (that's impossible, right? :P), but as Ryan said, they're going to release a new album live and there are already tour dates!

"Live From Las Vegas At the Palms" was recorded in last October, it has 10 tracks and will be available on iTunes next 22. Wow, fast!

The songs are:

1. The Takedown
2. Fighting
3. Lights and Sounds
4. Rough Landing, Holly
5. Keeper
6. Light Up the Sky
7. Only One (acústica) - ai, ai, ai! (L)
8. Shadows and Regrets
9. Way Away
10. Ocean Avenue

There's more: they'll play with MxPx, PlayRadioPlay! and Treaty Of Paris.. Besides being the main band, while the others will play eletric, Yellowcard will make the shows acoustic (probably because of the LP's grandmother who is not okay - let's wait!).

The tour dates are on the tour section.

New Ryan blog!!! :D

After almost two months with no blogs... Ryan showed up!!
He commented the shows in Kuwait, what he'd like to do there and how was everything.
Read:

"Home Safe

This past week has been quite an experience. Sean, Mendez, and myself travelled to the Middle East to perform for our service men and women stationed there. It was 19 hours of flying each way and we just got back today. While we were there we had been scheduled to play in Kuwait the first day and then head north into Iraq for the rest of the trip. At the last minute the President came in after his visit to Israel which made it impossible to get a flight north. All of the resources there were being used for security. So we made some changes and ended up playing the bases in and around Kuwait instead. Even though we didn't get to be in Iraq and fire machine guns out of the sides of helicopters and drive tanks(which were just a couple of the things we were hoping to do), it was still an amazing trip for the three of us. We played the shows acoustic which gave us the chance to really hang out with the troops during the show. We really felt like we were bringing a piece of home to them and could tell how grateful they were to spend some time away from their normal routine. We have never held our tongues when it came to our feelings about the war in Iraq, however we have always said that although we may not support the entire mission, we will always support the men and women who are there. We would like to thank everyone there that came to the shows and especially those that took care of us while we were there. It was something we will remember for as long as we live. We wish only for everyone there to return home safe.

-Ryan"

It was a really cool attitude to have done shows there!!
But Ryan, Kuwait is not an amusement park, right?! HAHAHAHA :P
What songs did they play there, huh? Suggestions??!

Yellowcard to bring rock to the troops on the Persian Gulf

We took some days off, but we're back... as Yellowcard is!
Reuters published news regarding the tour. Check some parts below:

"Rock band Yellowcard will soon travel to the Persian Gulf and perform for service men and women as part of a USO/MNC-I expeditionary entertainment tour. This is the first USO tour
for Yellowcard, who will hang out with armed forces, sign autographs and treat
U.S. troops to a selection of hit songs from all their albums. Their latest album "Paper Walls" debuted at no. 13 on the Billboard charts and sold more
than 40,000 copies in its first week.
(Logo: here )

Recognized for their trademark sound infused with entwined guitar lines,
airtight vocal harmonies and flourishes of violin, Yellowcard has performed
before millions, acquired thousands of devoted fans and toured hundreds of
venues. The recipient of an MTV Video Music Award, Yellowcard has also
encountered countless breakout successes. The band's hit single "Gifts and
Curses" was featured in the blockbuster film "Spider-Man 2" and their song
"Breathing" is featured in Electronic Arts' futuristic video game "Burnout
Revenge."

"We're really excited about going to the Middle East with the USO and
performing for the troops," says Yellowcard frontman Ryan Key. "It's a
privilege to have the opportunity to visit and entertain those that serve our
nation. This tour isn't just a treat for them but also for us."

Since 2003, the group has released three chart-topping albums, graced the
covers of magazines like "Alternative Press" and toured nonstop. Yellowcard's
popularity continues to grow with smash hits like "Ocean Avenue," "Don't
Forget About Me," "Lights and Sounds" and "Light Up the Sky," among many
others."

Dedicated fans = we!
