Top 5 album openers
1.Smells Like Teen Spirit-Nirvana "Nevermind"
This is the reason I picked up a guitar. It was the first riff I ever learned. It is legendary.
2.Linoleum-NOFX "Punk in Drublic"
This song was the first note of punk rock I ever heard. The cred police may give me crap for that but what can I say? I grew up watching MTV and then there was NOFX.
3.Tired Of Sex-Weezer "Pinkerton"
I am biased because this is one of my all time favorite records but let's just say lyrically I get it. We will be alright Rivers.
4.Narcolepsy-Ben Folds Five "The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner"
I waited outside Streetlight Records in Santa Cruz, CA the day this record came out and this song turned my car into a concert hall. This band is all time for me.
5.Burnout-Green Day "Dookie"
The opening track to the soundtrack for your life if you were born in 1979. I can document each chapter of my adolesence and adulthood by which Green Day record I was listening to. This was page one.
